"Last summer I undertook a 35 mile open sea trip with two friends in a 22ft boat. High winds were forecast, but no one was quite sure when they'd arrive. To wait might cause several days delay; to go might mean an increasingly uncomfortable trip. In the end we sailed and all was well, but I wish I'd had this book with me before I took that decision."
